Dear Friends,

Greetings once again! We’re thrilled to let you know that we will be departing the US for Argentina on Friday, August 14th. After our overnight flight, we arrive in Cordoba on August 15th. It’s been a great year and we are so thankful to the many churches who have made us part of their missionary family. Please continue to pray and support this work in Argentina and we will be sure to let you know how things are progressing.

Container is on it's way!

Hello Friends,

We’re pleased to give you another update on our progress to get back to Argentina. The big event this week was the loading and shipping of our 20 ft. container to Argentina. We would like to thank those who helped support us with different donations and items which will bless the school in Cordoba. As Sonia and I purchased different items, we weren’t sure if everything would fit in. Thankfully, we were able to get it all in, though with very little space left. We would like to thank Living Hope Worship Center, Evangel Church and Nuco Title Insurance company for items that were donated to help our students. Thank you very much for blessing Argentina!

We will continue to be here in the US over the next few weeks before heading back to Argentina on August 14th. We appreciate your continued support and help.

Blessings,

Stephen

Urgent: Donations needed for container

Hello once again!

If you’ve been following our posts and newsletters, then you’re aware that we’ll soon be back in Argentina, serving at the Bible school in the city of Córdoba. As we prepare for our return, our plans include shipping a 20’ container by ocean to Argentina. This larger capacity will make it possible for us to bring into the country items impossible to carry with us on the plane.

Urgent: We need your help in preparing our container for Argentina!
Because of this opportunity, we’d like share some of our pressing needs at the Bible school. Perhaps, you or your church might be able to donate items. Since we only have a couple weeks to make this happen, please get in touch with us ASAP by phone or email. The deadline for items will be Monday, July 20th.

Urgent Items Needed:
  • Computers for the school library (Win/Mac, 1GHz or better)
  • Used computer monitors in working condition (17” preferred)
  • Any hand tools, lawn mowers or garden equipment would be extremely helpful as we have 9+ acres of land to maintain on campus.
  • Digital camera for taking photographs on campus and for publications
  • Bed sheets/blankets in good condition (Single, Twin or Queen)
  • Personal toiletry items for our students (soap, shampoo, personal hygiene products, etc.)
  • School supplies (pens, pencils, etc.)

Thank you so much!

Stephen

Are we there yet?

Current budget is at 98%! Just $100 more in monthly commitments.
Hello Friends,

We’ve all seen it in movies and TV programs... the kids asking their parents “Are we there yet?” We feel that way sometimes with our Heavenly Father...”are we there yet?” Are we closer to getting our budget raised so we may continue serving in Argentina? The good news is yes, just about there!

As of the beginning of July, we are looking at about $100 more in monthly commitments in order to have a strong missions budget for our next 4 years of service in Argentina. If your church would like to partner with us and help make our return more speedily, please visit out “Support” page for more information.

We are awaiting final word from our organization for the “green light” to purchase our airline tickets and to finalize the planning for our return. At this moment, it seems that mid-August would be a good timeline for us to consider. If you haven’t read our most current newsletter, we’d invite you to do so. In it you’ll find lots of information about our current needs and adventures.

We’ll keep you posted!

LFTL... some of the best 4 letters in missions!

Light For The Lost (LFTL) ... An empowering ministry for missions.
Hello Friends,

Last week I had the privilege of attending 3 LFTL (Light for the Lost) banquets as part of the Steakwagon tour here in New Jersey. It’s a great time to enjoy a wonderful steak dinner (thanks Glen!), have fellowship and hear how LFTL is making a difference. For those who are not familiar with LFTL, they assist missionaries by providing resources for evangelism here in America and around the world. This is crucial to a missionary’s effectiveness and we are truly thankful for them!

I wanted to take a moment to write a post about LFTL to help introduce it to more people in the church. On a personal note, LFTL is helping us in our work in Argentina by providing literature which we have distributed to children plus books and materials for our Bible school students. Truly, missions is about everyone working together. Thank you LFTL!

If you would like to attend one of the Steakwagon rallies coming up this week, here are the times and places.

  • Thursday, May 21st, Crossroads Assembly of God in Englishtown, NJ at 7:00 PM
  • Friday, May 22nd, New Life Assembly of God in Egg Harbor, NJ at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 23rd, Mountain Top Assembly of God in Mt. Olive, NJ at 5:00 PM

At all events, NJ LFTL director John Bechtel will be present with special guest Rev. David Raley speaking at each function. Please visit our New Jersey LFTL website today for more info.

Photos of New Mattresses!

Students receiving their new mattresses!
Hello again!

Just a quick note that we added some photos to our “Media” section of the new mattresses recently purchased.

Many of you gave sacrificially toward this project and we wanted to inform you that we got some photos in. We’ll be posting some additional ones shortly, but this should give you an idea of the great blessing we have been to these future pastors and church leaders. All in all we have purchased more than 70 kits of mattresses, blankets and pillows for our students!

Thank you for giving! Visit our “Current Projects” section for information about this and other projects.

Nehemiah Challenge Update

Help us build the wall for the security of our students!
Dear Friends,

We would like to further update you on our progress for the “Nehemiah Challenge” project. As you know, the security of our students is of the upmost importance. In order for us to safely secure our campus, we will need approximately $30,000 for the construction of a security wall. At the moment here is where we stand:

  • We currently have close to $10,000 given or pledged toward this project.
  • If we include the matching funds portion, we will have raised about $20,000 of the intended $30,000 so far.

We have just a couple more weeks to raise an additional $5,000 which will in turn be matched. Please consider joining with us as we trust God to provide the resources to help secure our campus in Argentina! You can find out more about this project by visiting our “Current Projects” section.

We’ll keep you posted...

Update on Missions Budget

We currently have almost 90% of our budget raised.
Hello again,

Sonia and I wanted to give you an update on our progress as we continue to itinerate and raise funds to return soon to Argentina. As you know, we need a certain amount of monthly commitments to be raised leaving for the mission field again.

During these past 10 months so far, God has opened many doors and we’ve witnessed His goodness in so many ways. We are thankful to the many churches that have made us a part of their extended ministry. Thank you for partnering with us!

Currently, we are at around 90% of our ministry budget raised. Though this is wonderful news, we still need that last 10%! We are lacking about $850 in monthly commitments. Perhaps you or your church would like to join hands with us? This would be a great time to do so. Just visit our “Support” page for more information.

We’ll keep you informed. Also, don’t forget that we still need your help on our “Nehemiah Challenge” project.

Thanks so much and we’ll be in touch with you again soon!

Spring newsletter now available!

Spring 2009 Newsletter. Now available in the "Newsletter" section!
Hello friends!

Well, today in the US was the first day of Spring. I don’t know how the weather was in your neck of the woods, but this morning we had a dusting of snow here in New Jersey! What a crazy way to welcome in the change of seasons!

Regardless of the weather, we would like to welcome this Spring day by letting you know that we have updated our current newsletter. It is now available for download in our “Newsletters” section of the website. Each quarter we release updates and ministry activities concerning our missions work in the nation of Argentina. We hope you enjoy reading the Spring quarter edition.

Update on Missions Budget

We still need 22% of our budget, about $1700 in monthly support.
Dear Friends and Partners,

Today we wanted to give you a brief update on our progress here in the United States. Many have asked us, “So, when do you head back to Argentina?” Or the occasional, “Hey, we thought you left already!”. So here’s the most current information on our progress.

As of today, we still need around $1700 in monthly commitments before we are able to continue the work in Argentina. Though this sounds like a HUGE amount, in reality, if many churches and individuals were able to help out with any amount, we could see this need diminish very quickly. For example, if 34 churches were to commit $50 a month, we would have our monthly budget met today. Thats 10 families in the church that would commit to $5 a month. So for about the price of a fancy latte, we can make an eternal difference in Argentina. Who said that we can’t support missions because of economic crisis? We just need to be creative.

So if individuals or families would like to join us to reach out to Argentina, they can do so with as little as $5 per month. Perhaps, many could do more, but most of us would have a hard time persuading ourselves to do less.

Let me challenge each of us, self included, to go above the levels of fear that surround us and find ways to respond to God’s call to go to the nations. Will you help us?

Visit our support page or contact us for more info.

We love you and appreciate you so much!

Stephen & Sonia

Welcome to our updated site!

New Ministry Website
Greetings!

We recently have made changes to our ministry web site. We hope you like it! It seems that our old website (powered by WordPress) had some security gaps and someone hacked our page and this deleted all of our content. So we have been working on getting our web presence back online and available to all of our wonderful partners and friends.

It make take a little while to get the photos back online and other posts, but we hope that you will find the site helpful. Please let us know what you think and if you have any suggestions for the site.

Thanks and God bless,

Stephen

May we visit your church?

Dear Pastors,

As you may know, we are currently in the US for our cycle of itineration. We are so grateful for all that God has done during these past 4 years while serving in Argentina. Though we have been traveling for about 6 months already, we have many dates still available on our calendar. We invite you to visit the “Resources” section of our web site where you may view the current dates that we have available for ministry. You may simply contact us by email or phone. Additionally, our contact page has all the different ways in which you can get in touch with us.

Blessings,

Stephen
